Find Work
General Development News 2009-03-30 by BeachBum
In the current economic climate many are having a hard time finding steady work. We've added a job search feature to help you find the job want.
Employers can post jobs specifically for coders who are concerned with being the best they can (our readers).
The goal is to match employers who want excellent coding with coders who want to write excellent code.
If you want to browse the jobs or post an opening take a minute and head over to jobs.bestcodingpractices.com.

Email Validation Back Online
General Development News 2009-03-07 by BeachBum
We just noticed (or had it brought to our attention) that the Email Validation Service wasn't working properly. Apparently a server upgrade changed some security settings and made the service stop working. It's back up and working again now. Thanks Sperch for bringing this to our attention.

We may be getting new hardware!
General Development News 2008-03-21 by BeachBum
I'm looking into getting us a new server with Win2008 server and IIS7. I've been running PHP on Windows for many years and hope it continues to work well with the newest version of Win Server.
I'm only mentioning this because any time I have done a migration there have been some unexpected downtimes if only waiting for DNS to resolve. Please be patient with us if you see the site down. We're going to do everything in our power to keep the site up during this migration especially because of the wildly popular email validation service that we're running. Thousands of sites are using it to validate their emails and we don't want to interrupt that. -
What are your thoughts on Silverlight?
General Development News 2008-03-18 by BeachBum
Silverlight 2 beta is out and about. I've downloaded the VS2008 demo and the Silverlight add-on. While it's not a perfect technology by any means it does have a lot of potential. There is not a lot of information out about Silverlight yet so I'm gathering a small directory of resources to get people started if they want to look into it. You can find that here:
http://www.bestcodingpractices.com/silverlight_development_resources-2723.html ,
if we get enough interest built in Silverlight as a technology I'll setup a tab for it. For now it will have to share. -
