Code indentation, sometimes called code beautification, is often overlooked as unecessary but taking the time to write good looking code can save many hours during the lifetime of a project. Debugging code that has been properly formatted takes a fraction of the time of dealing with messy code.
Different language structures lend themselves to various methods of code formatting. Just pick a method that works good for you, or research a method that is recommended for your preferred language.
